More Ajrumiyyah resources

I came across these files on the Al-Maghrib institute forums.

The first file is another version of the matn I originally uploaded, but is slightly easier on the eye, and the second is the matn in poetry for those who want to go that extra step and memorise it. Enjoy.

I’ll be posting notes from the Ajrumiyyah. Currently going throught the section on verbs and the latest bit looks at words which put a sentence into a state of nasb.

This document explains very briefly what each sifaat is and its respective letters.

Tajweed Miscellany

As intended, here are some random tajweed notes on makhaarij, sifaat etc.

First of all, I found this interesting chart on tajweed showing quite a few rules. Click on the pic to open it in a new window and then expand it to see it in all its glory.

I was told makhaarij and sifaat make up half of tajweed so here’s a couple of diagrams to help. Makhaarij are essential to making sure the sound comes from the right point, and to consequently have the right qualities (sifaat).

Here’s an at-a-glance document about each harf (letter) and its sifaat.

Most students of Arabic will have heard of this amazing Arabic Grammar. It seems to be more popular with native Arabs but nevertheless is very useful for the English speaker.

Ism shartiyyah – conditional sentences

•March 8, 2007 • 2 Comments

Here are some brief notes I typed up about conditional sentences in Arabic, such as, “If you go, I will come.”

This is based on the chapter in the Ajrumiyyah.

They don’t have the tashkeel on but Inshallah you’ll be able to work them out.

It can be really annoying sometimes when you find you’ve got no way to write Arabic on Word or whatever, so I present you 302 of the finest Arabic fonts available this side of Cairo.

I tried uploading them to the website but not luck so I had to upload them to this random site.  It’s quite a hefty download, about 17Mb.

Enjoy and make some nice du’a for me :o )
